It’s important to remember who Jesus was talking to when he made this statement. He was talking to the disciples. He wasn’t just telling them what was going to happen, he was telling them so they could be prepared for it.

Before Christ returns, the Jews will be truly settled in their ancestral homeland. Jerusalem will once again be in Jewish hands. Many believe that this sign will come to pass soon as Israel is currently a Jewish state.

11 For the grace of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all people. 12 And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God, 13 while we look forward with hope to that wonderful day when the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be revealed.

Another sign is an increase in lawlessness and love growing cold (Matthew 24:12). This indicates a moral decline in a society where sin becomes rampant and love for others diminishes.
